BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO THERAPY

Namaste and Welcome. Challenges and barriers present themselves in several different forms in our everyday lives, at times, these issues can be overwhelming and difficult to contend with leaving us at a loss of where to look for solutions and answers. At times, unresolved issues can morph into dysfunction and deeper wounds that may lead to further stress, anxiety and even depression. Therapy can be a constructive and helpful tool to help us find ways to enhance our lives leading to personal self awareness, psychic growth, empowerment and spiritual evolution. Therapy is a platform where the therapist will create the ideal safe and confidential environment of unconditional positive regard, respect, empathy and a non judgmental attitude where in issues can be dealt with and worked on. Within the counseling framework under the appropriate therapeutic conditions the client is able to deal with their life experiences, give it perspective which would lead to emotional processing of the issues at hand. Therapy also entails, reorganization of old schematic structures and creation of new healthy schemes (thoughts, feelings and behaviors) which would assist the client in finding true equanimity and joy in life. The relationship that the therapist and the client share is based on trust and confidentiality. Therapy is conducted keeping in strict adherence to the highest ethics dictated by CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy).
